South American company eyeing Hawaii for major man-made lagoon project

South America's Crystal Lagoons, which licenses its technology for the development of man-made lagoons, is in discussions with Hawaii developers and landowners that the Chile-based company hopes will lead to its first project in the state, its west coast director confirmed to Pacific Business News this week.
Crystal Lagoons, which has its U.S. headquarters in Miami, currently has 65 projects in the nation in some sort of development stage, including one in Las Vegas in partnership with Wynn Resorts.
