WASHINGTON D.C.: This week, the White House said that Adobe, IBM, Nvidia, and five other companies have signed U.S. President Joe Biden's voluntary commitments to managing artificial intelligence (AI).
The original commitments, which include steps such as watermarking AI-generated content, were announced in July to ensure that AI is not used for destructive purposes.
Google, OpenAI, and OpenAI partner Microsoft agreed to join the commitments in July.
In a statement, White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients said, "The president has been clear: harness the benefits of AI, manage the risks, and move fast very fast. And we are doing just that by partnering with the private sector and pulling every lever we have to get this done."
Palantir, Stability, Salesforce, Scale AI, and Cohere have also signed on to the commitments.
The White House has also been working on an executive order on AI.
